Playa de las Vistas is the golden heart of Los Cristianos — a long, wide, gently curving Blue Flag beach with calm, clear water and some of the best facilities in southern Tenerife. How to get there
Playa de las Vistas stretches along the seafront between the towns of Los Cristianos and Playa de las Américas, so it's within walking distance of a huge number of hotels and apartments. It's easily reached on foot along the promenade, by the frequent local buses that serve the south, or by taxi, and there's parking in the surrounding streets and car parks. The beach's central position makes it one of the simplest to get to on the whole coast — many visitors barely need transport at all.
What it's like
This is a broad, welcoming sweep of pale golden sand — much of it imported to build the beach — running for the best part of a kilometre along a smart promenade dotted with palms, cafés and a striking central fountain that jets from the water offshore. Two breakwaters shelter the bay, so the sea stays calm and inviting. The mood is cheerful, busy and cosmopolitan without feeling overwhelming, and the sheer width of the sand means there's usually room to spread out even in high season.

Swimming and safety
The bay's two harbour arms make this one of the calmest swimming beaches in the south. The water is clear and shelves gently, so it's excellent for children, older swimmers and anyone who wants a relaxed dip rather than a battle with the waves. Lifeguards patrol in season and the beach is well organised with marked bathing zones. As always, follow the flag system and keep an eye on children, but on a normal day the sea here is about as gentle and reassuring as Tenerife gets.
Facilities
Facilities are excellent and comprehensive. Expect neat rows of sunbeds and parasols for hire, showers, toilets, footbaths and lifeguard towers, plus the assisted-bathing service that makes the beach so accessible. The promenade behind is lined with cafés, restaurants, bars and shops, so food, drink and supplies are always close by. This is a fully serviced town beach where you can arrive with almost nothing and want for nothing — one reason it's so popular with families and repeat visitors.

Playa de las Vistas is a superb all-rounder: ideal for families with children, older travellers, and anyone with limited mobility thanks to its accessibility features. It suits visitors who want a calm swim, plenty of facilities and everything within walking distance. It's less of a fit for those seeking a wild, natural or secluded beach, or serious surf and watersports — the appeal here is comfort, safety and easy pleasure. For a stress-free beach day in the sun, it's hard to beat.

The friendly resort town of Los Cristianos is right behind the beach, with its harbour — the departure point for ferries to La Gomera, El Hierro and La Palma — plus shops, restaurants and a weekly market.
