Aqualand Costa Adeje

Set in the sunny south of Tenerife, Aqualand Costa Adeje is the island's big, cheerful, all-ages water park — a proper day of slides, splashing and lazing that keeps children thrilled and grown-ups happily cooled off. Slides for every level of nerve

The heart of any water park is its slides, and Aqualand has a good spread from gentle to genuinely hair-raising. Speed merchants can throw themselves down steep kamikaze drops and twisting tube rides, while families and less daring paddlers have plenty of softer options — multi-lane racers, looping flumes and rides you can tackle together on rafts. There are quieter areas too, including a lazy river for drifting along and pools for simply cooling off. It's the kind of place where thrill-seekers and the more cautious can both find their level and meet back up for lunch.

The wave pool and the little ones' zone

Two features make Aqualand especially good for mixed-age groups. The big wave pool rolls out artificial surf on a schedule, so you get the fun of the sea with none of the worry — great for bobbing about with older kids. And for toddlers and younger children there's a dedicated shallow play area with mini-slides, fountains and gentle water features, where they can splash safely while parents relax nearby. Add sunbathing terraces and grassy spots to spread a towel, and it works just as well for a relaxed day as an action-packed one.

The dolphin show

Aqualand Costa Adeje also features a dolphin show as part of the day, included with entry, which is a hit with many families. If animal shows aren't for you, it's easy to skip and stick to the slides. Tenerife has a wide range of animal attractions, from the huge Loro Parque in the north to smaller parks in the south, so there's plenty of choice depending on what you and the kids enjoy.

Where it is and getting there

The park is in Costa Adeje, part of the buzzing resort strip in southern Tenerife that runs into Playa de las Américas and Los Cristianos. If you're staying in any of these it's very close — many hotels are within a short taxi ride, and free shuttle buses often run from resort pick-up points (check current routes when you book). Drivers will find parking on site, just off the main southern motorway.

Aqualand or Siam Park?

Tenerife has two big water parks in the south, and visitors often ask which to choose. The lavishly themed Siam Park is the bigger, glossier and pricier of the two, regularly rated among the best water parks in the world. Aqualand Costa Adeje is more relaxed and often a bit cheaper, with the added dolphin show and a strong toddler area — many families find it excellent value and less overwhelming for younger children.
